Welcome to CanCitiPrep! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our Canadian citizenship test preparation platform at cancitiprep.ca ("Service"). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CanCitiPrep, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
CanCitiPrep provides:
- Practice tests for Canadian citizenship exam preparation
- Bilingual content (French and English)
- Progress tracking and performance analytics
- A free tier and paid plans
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
3.2 Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Abuse the Service or other users
4. Payments and Access
4.1 Free Tier
- Access to 3 practice tests (20 questions each)
- Unlimited retries on free tests
- No payment required
4.2 Paid Plans
We offer two one-time-payment plans. Each purchase is a single payment — it does not renew, and you will not be billed again unless you choose to purchase access again:
- 3-Week Access: $6.99 CAD - Full access for 21 days
- 1-Year Access: $10.99 CAD - Full access for 1 year
4.3 Payment Processing
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe
- Prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- You will receive email confirmation of your purchase
4.4 Refunds and Cancellations
Before purchasing, try our free tier (3 practice tests, no account needed) to evaluate the Service.
We provide a refund, a free extension of your access period, or both, if:
- a technical fault on our end prevented you from accessing the paid features you purchased, and you reported it to us within 30 days of the fault occurring;
- you were charged more than once by mistake for the same plan; or
- you never received the access you paid for.
To request a refund under this policy, email support@cancitiprep.ca with the email address used for your purchase and a short description of the problem. See "Service Issues and Access Problems" for how we handle access problems.
4.5 Access Period
- 3-Week plans: Access expires 21 days after purchase
- 1-Year plans: Access expires 1 year after purchase
- Your access period begins at the moment of purchase. There is no automatic renewal and no recurring charge — to continue having access once the period ends, you choose to purchase again
5. Service Issues and Access Problems
If something goes wrong with your paid access — you can't log in, your progress didn't save, or you were charged incorrectly — tell us within 30 days of noticing the problem, or before your access period ends if that date is later, at support@cancitiprep.ca.
We commit to acknowledging your report within 5 business days. Once we've confirmed the problem, we apply the following measures, in this order of preference:
- restore your access as quickly as possible;
- if we can't restore it right away, extend your access period by the amount of time you were unable to use the Service;
- if we can't fix the problem, refund the affected payment.
These measures are in addition to your rights under British Columbia consumer protection law, and do not replace them.
6. Price Changes
We may change our prices at any time. A price change never affects access you have already purchased. The price shown to you at checkout is the price that applies to your purchase.
7. If We Discontinue the Service
If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice, by email to anyone with an account, and on the site.
If you hold an active 1-Year plan at that time, we will refund the unused portion of your payment, pro-rated, calculated from the shutdown date to the end of your original access period.
The unused portion is counted in whole days; any partial day is rounded up in your favour.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Share your account with others
- Copy, distribute, or sell our questions or content
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
- Attempt to bypass payment or paid-access requirements
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Our Content
All content on CanCitiPrep, including questions, explanations, design, and code, is owned by CanCitiPrep and protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
9.2 Government Content
Our questions are based on the "Discover Canada" guide, which is published by the Government of Canada. The original guide is Crown Copyright.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:
- That you will pass the Canadian citizenship test
- That our content is error-free or complete
- Uninterrupted or secure access to the Service
- That the Service will meet your specific requirements
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CANCITIPREP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Failure to pass the citizenship test
- Any amount exceeding the fees you paid to us
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CanCitiPrep from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending email notification for material changes
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CanCitiPrep regarding the Service.
